Panorama Harburg
video

The film is dedicated to Harburg, an industrial suburb long since engulfed by the vast port of Hamburg, and is divided into three parts: Outstation, Campsite and Pasture. Following the path of a hypothetical migration, ZimmerFrei imagines a city covered in grass and invaded by flocks of sheep, as if the camera were able to read beyond the present and show us the distant past, or the future. Maschen, one of the main railway hubs of central Europe, is visited by night, when the railroad cars move like ghosts under their own power, when human presence is still an exception. The decaying port is populated by occasional sleepers that signal the end of an era. Something is ending and something else is beginning. Whether this process is good or bad is difficult to ascertain; meanwhile the view rotates uninterruptedly for 360°. The third chapter is filmed in the heart of Harburg, the shopping mall. Seen through the eye of the camera, the square becomes a film set for possible stories, unforeseen acts, random micro-events, the beginning of a narrative. The citizens of Harburg become the protagonists of a spatial revolution that celebrates the density of everyday life.
