Part of the Stereorama series, The Apartment uses an empty house as a set for an anti-plot: a man with a balaclava, a woman in red, somebody  sleeping on the floor.
By looking into a special stereoscopic visor built by ZimmerFrei, you can dip into a huge space that surrounds the whole view as in a cinematic panorama.
The images inside the object are stills of situations that you can observe with your own tempo: time is frozen as in photography but you can imagine that a movie develops thanks to volume, perspective and sound.
The Stereorama series is close to the “stillstand” described by Walter Benjamin as dialectic image: a border between stillness and movement.
